Officer Christopher Kelly Jr.

The ‘Officer of the Month’ award recognizes the efforts of an individual with the rank of patrol officer from Division or a Special Unit, who has demonstrated exceptional dedication in the performance of his/her duties during the previous month. I am very pleased to announce that our selection for this month’s LPD ‘Officer of the Month’ is Officer Christopher Kelly Jr., who is assigned to the First Division.

This nomination was submitted by Lieutenants Kenneth Runyan and Edward Cauley and seconded by Lieutenant David Hines.

As noted in Lt. Runyan and Cauley’s written nomination, “Officer Kelly has always been an asset on First Division since starting with the department. He is willing to take on any task assigned to him without complaint.” They added, “He shows up to work with a positive attitude, helps others and is supportive of his peers. He stepped into a Field Training Officer role even though he has been on the department just a short time.

Just recently, he agreed to take over for Officer Andrew Kreamer who was reassigned to the juvenile detective position so that one of the new officers could keep the same schedule.” They also noted, “Officer Kelly primarily works East Lynn but has no issue bouncing to different routes as the needs of the division arise.” They concluded by saying, “Officer Kelly Jr. displays characteristics of a great officer and is well-deserving of this recognition.”

Congratulations and thank you to Officer Kelly for a job well done!
