Officer Robert Vallery Jr.

Officer Vallery in uniformThe ‘Officer of the Month’ award recognizes the efforts of an individual with the rank of patrol officer from Division or a Special Unit, who has demonstrated exceptional dedication in the performance of his/her duties during the previous month. I am very pleased to announce that our selection for this month’s LPD ‘Officer of the Month’ is Officer Robert Vallery Jr., who is assigned to the Second Division.

This nomination was submitted by Lieutenant Michael O’Connell.

As noted in Lt. O’Connell’s written nomination, “Officer Vallery, who has found his place primarily in West Lynn, has distinguished himself as a self-starter, who need not be tied to the radio.”

He added, “Officer Vallery can often be found running radar and looking for OUIs. Of note is an arrest made on February 2nd of party, who was caught on LIDAR going nearly double the posted speed limit on the Lynnway. An investigation found that he was over the legal limit for OUI. Officer Vallery’s initiative in this incident saved lives.” Sgt. McHale added that Officer Vallery has become his “go-to guy” as someone who handles any task given by the sergeants, no matter the size and without complaints.

Congratulations and thank you Officer Vallery for a job well done!
