December 2025 Officer Chandler Laguerre

Officer Chandler Laguerre PortraitThe ‘Officer of the Month’ award recognizes the efforts of an individual with the rank of patrol officer from Division or a Special Unit, who has demonstrated exceptional dedication in the performance of his/her duties during the previous month. I am very pleased to announce that our selection for this month’s LPD ‘Officer of the Month’ is Officer Chandler Laguerre, who is assigned to the First Division.

This nomination was submitted by Lieutenants Kenneth Runyan and David Hines and seconded by Captain David Brown.

As noted in Lt. Runyan and Hines’ written nomination, “Officer Laguerre has been a dependable officer on First Division where he regularly works Cars 9 and 15 but is happy to fill in any open spot when asked.”

They added, “One recent incident that stands out was a trespassing call at 50 Western Ave which turned into a disturbance between an employee and a suspect. Officer Laguerre despite being alone, took action and put himself in harm’s way. An officer alone and under attack is a dangerous situation. Officer Laguerre was able to gain control of the aggressive subject and place him into custody by himself while awaiting backup to arrive.”

They also stated, “Officer Laguerre was relied on prior to the formal FTO program and is now a certified FTO. He is always willing to step up to take on a different OIT if their regularly scheduled FTO is out that night. Officer Laguerre seeks input from others when he has questions and passes the knowledge gained on to the newer officers as he works with them.”

Congratulations and thank you to Officer Laguerre for a job well done!
