The ‘Officer of the Month’ award recognizes the efforts of an individual with the rank of patrol officer from Division or a Special Unit, who has demonstrated exceptional dedication in the performance of his/her duties during the previous month. I am very pleased to announce that our selection for this month’s LPD ‘Officer of the Month’ is Officer Diana Frias, who is assigned to the First Division.
This nomination was submitted by Lieutenants Kenneth Runyan and David Hines. The nomination was seconded by Lieutenant Ashley Affonco and Captain Chris Kelly. As noted in Lt’s Hines and Runyan’s written nomination, “Officer Frias has been a solid, dependable officer who has a positive attitude and strong work ethic. She’s an active officer who regularly works the downtown area and is always willing to assist with translation whether it be at the booking desk or on the street at various incidents.” They, and Captain Kelly, also mentioned, “Officer Frias, was one of several officers who, recently assisted with the John Law stings which had taken place in the city. Her contributions to that operation and the feedback received from the MSP personnel was highly positive.”
It was also noted that, “She is attentive to what is asked of her whether it is an assignment or a critique. She is well deserving of this distinction due to her consistent hard work and performance.”
Congratulations and thank you to Officer Frias for a job well done!
