Application Process

The City of Lynn is a Civil Service Community. The first step in the hiring process is to take the annual Civil Service Exam. Please visit https://www.mass.gov/info-details/your-police-career-in-massachusetts-begins-here for more information and to sign up. Once you have successfully completed the Civil Service Exam, your name will appear on our eligible list. During our hiring process we will contact candidates on the eligible list to begin our hiring and background investigation process. Candidates are encouraged to review the physical fitness standards to ensure they remain eligible for hire.

Internships

We have limited positions for interns at the Lynn Police Department. Intern positions are restricted to graduating seniors who have an internship requirement for graduation. We are currently not accepting internship applications.
